VIDEOS: How To Make Your Own Punch Needle, Heirloom Stockings

Last Christmas I fell in love with the punch needle stockings our editor Carli made for her family and I literally couldn’t stop thinking about them… so I decided to embark on my own punch needle stocking journey. While learning and punching, I realized I wanted to share how to make these heirloom quality stockings with you and so here it is! I’ve filmed three heavily detailed videos for you that hopefully cover absolutely everything you’ll need to know to be able to create these amazing stockings for your family.

  • VIDEO 1: supplies + pattern making
  • VIDEO 2: how to punch the front of your stocking
  • VIDEO 3: how to sew your stocking

Here’s wishing you a wonderful holiday season, a very happy punch needle stocking journey, and as always happy crafting! ~*Jen

The Oxford Punch Needle

When I started I knew nothing about punch needle. Everything I know I learned from The Oxford Company’s YouTube channel, thank you Amy!

For these stockings I used the #10 regular needle, and I purchased the limited edition bamboo wood handle.

Bulky Weight Yarn

I fell head over heels in love with this bulky weight yarn from Manos del Uruguay called Cardo. The hand-dyed colors felt just perfect for Christmas. In video two, I share a story about how I ran out of yarn at the last minute and had to dye some to match! (smh)

This Is How We Roll

This project took me 10 months to complete and so I found it best to keep all my supplies in one large bag, I picked this one up at JoAnns.

Hand Dyed Trees

I hand-dyed these bottle brush trees to match all my yarn colors, aren’t they fun! I’ll be sharing a tutorial next week on exactly how I did it.
