YAY! It’s #favorweek 2019, one of my favorite weeks of the entire year! It all started in 2015 when I realized that tons of readers were coming to the blog during the holidays to make our wedding favors as small holiday gifts. So now, each year we’ve been sharing awesome wedding/party favors that double as terrific handmade holiday gifts, and we make you a holiday version as well! First up this week are these adorable Bud Vase Escort Cards that we created using stunning flowers from our favorite flower delivery company, Fifty Flowers. Gorgeous blooms arrive at your door, you rehydrate and clean them up, then arrange, and gift! These would make terrific favors for a bridal shower or the holidays, easy gifts that are sure to put a smile on anyone’s face are what we live for!
Wedding or Holiday
These adorable little bud vases, that triple in function as they are beautiful decor, a lovely favor, and also the perfect escort card, are a must have for your next special event! Whether you are throwing a special bridal shower, baby shower, or holiday event, the flower choice and styling is what will make your vases unique!
Flowers, Delivered To Your Door
Now that I’m a mom, early mornings are a daily occurrence. However, I have absolutely no interest in getting up even earlier to drive downtown LA to the flower mart to buy my flowers. While that is an option for me, it might not be an option for you. So where can you get wholesale flowers? Easy, from FiftyFlowers.com and the best part is that they deliver them to your door. They will also help you with the ordering process, the rehydration process, and anything else you could possibly need help with; their customer service might be better than Nordstrom.
Delivery + Rehydration
Since FiftyFlowers is a farm to customer, wholesale flower company, it means that your flowers are shipped straight to you from the farm and they will arrive in large cardboard boxes…
- Using hardware store buckets, fill them up 1/4 of the way with water, make sure they are clean to start with.
- Carefully unbox and un-package your flowers, per the instructions from FiftyFlowers.
- Each flower is different and their team can walk you through the prep for each flower if needed.
- It is 100% normal for your flowers to look a bit tired and lifeless, they’ve been on a long journey to you.
- Give each stem a fresh diagonal cut and place in the water to rehydrate for 4-12 hours.
- Keep out of the heat and sun while rehydrating.
- Replace the water every 24 hours leading up to your event for optimal freshness.

Fill your bud vases with water…
Arrange, Assembly Line Style
Fill and arrange your little bud vases with flowers! It’s easiest and fastest to do this “assembly line style”, meaning you fill them all with greenery first, then the filler flower, then the focal flower. Instead of doing one vase with all three flowers first. Here I used the Delicate Garden DIY Flower Combo Pack, which came with three styles of flowers which was perfect for this project.
Escort Cards
Download and print our free escort card file and write the names on top of the design or add your own text to our pdf. Cut out using scissors. These can be escort cards, which say the name and table number and await your guests at the entrance -or- they could be seating cards which simply say the guests name and are waiting for them at their place setting at the table. Hole punch and hook onto a paper clip, then hang on the lip of the bud vase!
Sign
Download and print our free files including a 5×7 sign that says “find your seat” on a rose gold marble background. Totally optional of course!
Travel Advice
These bud vases came in the perfect cardboard boxes for travel! Just load them back in their original boxes and take them where you need to. If your bud vases don’t come in something like this, you can always save the boxes the flowers were shipped in and cut them to fit your needs.
Faux Stadium Display
For some reason I just want to call this “faux stadium seating”, LOL. The risers that created the flower stadium, were just long 4×4 blocks of wood that I cut to the length of the table and covered with a tablecloth. They fit the vases perfectly!
Display
If you arrived to an event and the first interaction was picking up one of these adorable little vases filled with darling flowers ~ wouldn’t you be jazzed!? I sure would be!
Flowers Make Everyones Day
Everyone loves receiving flowers. A small little flower gift or favor like this can last 4-6 days and really brighten someones week. The perfect shower gift and a terrific little holiday gift too!
