Free Printable & Editable “First Day” and “Last Day” of School Signs

Meaning you add your child’s name, grade, and the date of the first day of school, awesome right?! First Day & Last Day
We have designs for you for both the FIRST day of school and the LAST day of school, in three unique colors. Take a cute photo of your child on the first and last day of school to see how time has changed them!

- Canon Double-sided Matte Paper, Inkjet 8.5″ x 11
- Paper Trimmer
- Frame, clipboard, felt, fun things to embellish the signs

Edit Our File
First, download and install the two FREE font files below, you’ll need them to properly edit our designs.
Then download our set of 6 printables at the end of this blog post. When you click on the graphic, the download will start instantly. Open the file using either Adobe Reader (free) or Adobe Acrobat.
Click to edit and add your child’s unique information on the page of your choice; name, grade, and date. Then save.
Print Queue
In the printer queue, click to select your Canon printer. Here I’m using my favorite, the Canon PIXMA TS9521C Wireless All-in-one Crafting Printer. Also click to select the exact pages you want to print, along with “landscape” orientation.
Media & Quality
One of my favorite aspects of using my Canon printers is the ability to pick the type of paper for the best print quality. Here I’m choosing to print from the rear tray, on photo paper, using the best quality.

Matte Photo Paper For The Win
For most of the printable craft projects I make, I use Canon’s Matte Photo Paper because the quality is second to none. The combination of the Canon printer and Canon paper is a match made in crafty heaven. This double-sided paper is brand new and ideal for creating cards, personalized foldable crafts, small gift boxes, our unique projects, and more! The paper comes in three sizes 8.5 x 11, 12 x 12, and 7 x 10 (which is the perfect size for cards) and has been designed to work with all the amazing, printable crafts on Canon Creative Park.
Trim To 8×10
The printed designs are 8″ x 10″ so you’ll need to cut them down to size using using a paper trimmer or scissors.
Embellish
The embellishment is up to you! Here I added a few gold brads and placed the print in a clipboard with a cute yarn bow. You can style yours to your kids personality, their school mascot/theme, or maybe even their outfit!
Frame
The 8×10 size works perfect for a frame. Here I used removable GlueDots to add the print to the front of a wooden frame and I embellished it further with some little glue on pearls.
Felt Matte
Another idea is to matte the print with felt! I attached the two using scrapbooking brads in the corners.
