Hoooraaay! It’s finally Friday which means that I finally get to share this weeks gorgeous, DIY felt flower wedding bouquet and boutonnieres with you! I’ve been working on these designs for a month or so and by cutting them with my Cricut Maker, instead of by hand, it saved me loads of time. Also worth mentioning is that I don’t hate them. Many times when I work on something for so long, I end up getting sick of the project, maybe you’re the same? To create this bouquet took me about 8 hours of Cricut cutting time and 6 hours of assembly time, completed in a week. Pre-Cricut Maker, the felt flower bouquets would take me 20+ hours of just cutting, so total game changer! In our shop we’ve released all our past felt flower designs as Cricut .SVG cut files, including a special bundle for this entire bouquet. In talking about handmade flowers – I’m singing the praises of felt. Unlike paper, felt flowers are thick, sturdy and can withstand all that your wedding day could possibly throw at them. Paper can rip and crumple in a flash – but not felt! There is something so old-school crafty about felt… and I just love it. So without further ado, here is this weeks absolutely beautiful – felt flower wedding bouquet and a few boutonnieres too.

SUPPLIES:

• Wool Felt
• Floral Wire
• Wire Cutters
• Ribbon
• Hot Glue Gun
• Lots of pretty felt flowers!

This bouquet has 9 Giant Iceland Poppies, 2 large Air Plants and 3 small, 60 Wax Flowers, 25 Mini Daisies, 21 Sweet Peas, and 10 Blue Thistles.

All of these flowers were cut using our Cricut Maker and then glued together by hand. We have the Cricut .SVG cut files for this entire bouquet (and many other designs) available to purchase in our shop now!

Felt

For this felt flower bouquet I used Benzie Design Wool Felt in the colors listed below, but feel free to use any colors you’d like!

Start Building

I started this bouquet by holding one of each large flower and then continued to add from there. Once you get to a place where you are happy with the way things look – wrap with a piece of floral wire to secure and keep building.

Keep Adding

Keep adding more flowers, wrapping with wire and arranging your pretty felt blooms until you’re happy with your bouquet.

Finish The Stems

Wrap the section of wire that you’ll be holding with a piece of green felt and secure with hot glue. Once your arrangement is complete, trim all the wire stems to match.

Add Ribbons

I covered the green felt with beautiful silk ivory ribbon then added a large bow to finish. This step is totally up to you. Bow or no bow, velvet ribbon or silk ribbon, long streamers or short strands… it’s your choice!
