Happy #DIYfriday!! Today I’m sharing a project that’s going to make your trees sparkle and your lips curl upwards. In just a few simple steps, you can create beautiful strands of hanging crystals to adorn any tree branch that you can reach. Be it at your bridal shower, your wedding or maybe even your home! Don’t let their beauty dissuade you, they’re so easy to make it’s crazy!

Where To Hang These Beauties:
- In the garden during your bridal shower
- Poolside during your bachelorette party
- In the trees of your outdoor ceremony venue
- Behind the bar at your reception
- Amongst the trees at your venue
- Then in your backyard after the wedding is over!

SUPPLIES:
- Lots of pretty, clear crystal beads!
- Soft Flex Beading Wire, Fine
- Cheap Ear Wires
- Crimp Beads
- Wire Cutters
- Small Pliers
- Piece of felt to work on

De-Strand
Beads like this normally come on a string or fishing wire. Cut the string and divide the beads on plates or in bowls by size to keep yourself organized.

Cut The Soft Flex
I created strands that ranged from 8″ to 12″. When cutting your wire, keep in mind you’ll want to cut it about 2″ longer than your desired hanging length.

Create A Stopper
To start our hanging crystal piece, we have to create a stopper bead on the end of the wire. Add a crimp bead and then a small glass bead to the wire. Then wrap the wire back on itself and through the crimp bead – then crimp. Trapping the little glass bead. Trim away excess wire. Now you have a base bead that will keep all the other beads from falling off the wire!

Add The Crystals
Either randomly or in a pattern, add as many crystals as you’d like to the wire!

Finish The Strand
To finish this hanging strand of beads we are going to do the exact same thing we did to start, except replace the glass bead with an ear wire. Ear wires are meant for making earrings, but in this case they are perfect for hanging on tree branches! Add a crimp bead, then add the ear wire. Wrap the wire back on itself and through the crimp bead – then crimp and trim away excess wire.

Simple Jewelry Making
This is the most basic form of jewelry making and I love it! These are SUPER simple to create, but when they are hanging and sparkling in the trees at your special wedding event, they will look anything but simple!
