Simple DIY | Hexagon Tile Place Cards

Chic and easy DIY projects always make Monday a little easier to take, am I right? Using only gorgeous Italian Carrera marble hexagon tiles and metallic Sharpies, we are hand lettering these lovely DIY Hexagon Tile Place Cards in a snap. Not only are they quick and easy but they’re cheap too at $1.25 each. It’s only $15 for a sheet of 12 tiles, and they can double as personalized coaster favors! Normally I don’t get to make things for “actual” events… but yesterday was Shea O’Quinn’s (my craft assistant and Pinterest pro) birthday party and so I actually got to make these for all her guests!

Add The Table Number

Add a table number to each tile and you’ll have yourself an awesome escort card!

SUPPLIES:

  • 4″ White Italian Carrera Marble Hexagon Tiles (mine are from Amazon)
  • Metallic Sharpies
  • Strong Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Nail File
  • Nail Polish Remover + Q-tips (for mistakes!)

Remove Tiles From The Mesh

These 4″ tiles come on a sturdy mesh tile sheet, which you need to remove. Cut, rip, peel – do whatever you’d like to remove the tiles from the mesh.

Sand Off Excess Glue

Some tiles might have left over glue shards from being glued to the mesh sheet, so use a nail file to gently sand and remove them from the tile.

Hand Letter Each Guests Name

If you’re a hand lettering pro, just go for it using your choice of metallic Sharpie. If you’re not a pro, print out your guests names using your favorite fonts and do your best to copy the style onto each tile. Trace with a pencil first and then follow with the Sharpie.

I used: Prestige and Ostrich Sans Rounded

Nail Polish Remover For Mistakes

Nail polish remover will take off 98% of the Sharpie if you mess up. There will still be a tiny hint of what used to be there, but not enough to ruin your place card!

These Make Fabulous Coasters
