My incredibly talented and ultra crafty friend, Lia Griffith launched a new line of fine crepe paper a few months ago and I was honored to be one of the first to get my hands on it! From the gorgeous array of colors (including metallics!) to it’s amazing stretch, this crepe is something special. Today I’m sharing a chic and simple idea for turning this beautiful paper into DIY Wedding Chair Garland fit for a crafty queen! Perfect for ceremony or reception chairs alike, and even great for decorating the brides chair for her shower, this ruffled crepe paper garland has many different decor uses and I can’t wait to see what you creative gals do with it!

SUPPLIES:
- Lia Griffith’s Extra Fine Crepe Paper (in an ombre; Vanilla, Blush and Coral)
- Fiskars Mixed Media Shears
- Ruler
- Glue Gun (optional)
***You’ll need to know what type of chairs your event is going to have, and you’ll want to measure them before you start this project!
Trim Crepe Strips
Roll up the crepe paper and cut strips to fit your event chairs; these were 1.75″ between each rung. If you don’t have strong scissors like my Amplify Mixed Media Shears, you might not be able to cut through the entire roll of paper with one cut; do yourself a favor and use sharp scissors.
Pull Against The Grain
The beautiful thing about this fine crepe paper is the grain and how you can use it to your advance in a multitude of different crafts. here along both edges of the paper strips, gently pull to create the flare! Just pull the edge, not the whole piece. Pull across the entire edge and once finished you have these chic, ruffled garlands.
Glue To Fix Rips
This crepe paper is fine and while it doesn’t tear easily, I did tear it a few times. It’s easily mended with a dab of hot glue, no problem!
Weave Through Your Chairs
At your event, weave the ruffled crepe garlands through your chivari chairs, alternating the rungs and letting the paper pile up on the floor (insert heart eyed emoji).
Ceremony or Reception
I can see this chair decor being used across your entire head table, used for just your sweet heart table or maybe even the last row of chairs at your ceremony. Also a super fun idea for decorating only the brides chair for her bridal shower!
