I’m crazy excited about today’s simple DIY project and I think you might be too! With adult coloring all the rage, let’s harness that creative spirit and wrap it up into a unique guest book idea! This free printable, DIY Colorable “Guests” Guest Book lets your guests color themselves and freeze that moment in time, whether it’s during your wedding or bridal shower! I’ve used my trusty Canon PIMXA iP8720 Crafting Printer to create the large format wedding guest book and you can too. Grab both free printable guest book designs at the end of the post. This idea is sure to create a creative buzz at your special event and produce a one-of-a-kind work of art!
Thanks For The Idea
I wish I could take credit for this amazing idea, but I can’t. I first saw it from Forever Heyday on Etsy a few months back and literally couldn’t stop thinking about it. She used to sell custom guest books like this and would even design the couple and their guests, but she isn’t selling them anymore… so our free printable design is the next best thing!
Bridal Shower + Wedding
The wedding design has exactly 100 guests and the bridal shower design has exactly 30 guests. If you’re having a larger wedding or shower, you can always print two! If you’re having a slightly smaller event, maybe just color in a few extra people that weren’t able to make it.
Our free printable designs at the end of the post!
For Your Bridal Shower
Print the bridal shower guest book design onto 8.5″ x 11″ matte photo paper. The Canon paper I’m using for this project is amazing, you’re going to love it! The print is sized to 8″ x 10″, so you’ll need to trim it down after you print. Using your choice of markers or colored pencils, color yourself then add your name and bridal shower date….
Let Your Gals Color!
Place on a cute clipboard and display at your bridal shower for all your guests to color! Uuggghh — so cute I’m dying!!!
For Your Wedding
As many of you know, I’m obsessed with my Canon PIXMA iP8720 Crafting Printer for many reasons but the #1 reason being that it can print up to 13″ x 19″! Some might be thinking, that’s a weird size, but it’s actually the exact size of a standard digital photograph. So I’m taking full advantage of it’s large format printing ability with today’s project! The wedding guest book design is sized to 13″ x 19″ and you don’t need to trim it down or anything, it will print out perfectly!
Color Yourselves
Using your choice of markers or colored pencils, color yourselves and add your names and wedding date to the banner!
Display At Your Reception
For this guest book, having it displayed laying down on a table will be best, as apposed to upright on an easel. Encourage your DJ to make a mention of it during dancing, just in case someone missed it!
Markers vs. Colored Pencils
Both are fantastic and will give a great look to the design and a great experience to your guests. I would say if you’re on the fence, which one would you like to add to your craft stash after your event is over? If using markers, make sure they are fresh and not dried out. If using colored pencils, also make sure to provide a few sharpeners just in case one breaks or gets dull. Providing a good range of color (and not just the primaries) will make your guest book look it’s best!
Work Of Art
With this idea, your guests will create a one-of-a-kind work of art that is sure to make you smile every time you look at it. Frame and display or place in a scrapbook!
CRAFTERS IDEA: If you create the bridal shower guest book and you print it with an all-in-one printer like the Canon PIXMA MG7720, you could also scan the finished guestbook and reprint it smaller to make the most darling thank you cards!
