When I saw these adorable, plantable keys from Recycled Ideas – I fell in love and knew I had to use them in a DIY! So here we go, darling and easy favors that your guests will be excited to take home and plant!

Supplies: these adorable keys + hearts, a hole punch, business card size paper from Paper-Source (or you can cut them down to 2″ x 3.5″ yourself), twine, scissors and the optional ribbon to place behind the favor on your guests plate.

Start by printing this {PDF} onto your paper cards. I move my printer guides all the way to the middle and then it holds the small cards perfectly. The card reads: “plant the key & heart to watch wildflowers grow”.

Once printed, hole punch each one at the top of the card.

Next, cut about 10 inches of twine for each card and start adding your keys + hearts! These keys and hearts come in multiple colors… and the shop also sells many shapes of plantable items just like these keys.

Carefully tie a bow, not too tight or it could rip the key. That’s it!

Optional: cut a short piece of ribbon to place behind the favor on your guests plate!
