wedding dresses | my story

How I found my wedding dress is one of my favorite stories to tell… so here it is…

“I was christmas shopping with some friends at Carlsbad Premium Outlets… and we were in Ralph Lauren. I hear my friends saying over my shoulder, “She’s going to pretend like she doesn’t know us! Hahahaha!” When I turn around they are both wearing the most hideous neon parkas. Head to toe, one had on a bright green one and the other had a bright yellow. As I am laughing at them, I too decide to grab a parka and join in the neon barf-fest. So I am digging in the super clearance rack (you know the one, will ALL the terrible, odd stuff no one wants) and in between two orange parkas is the most beautiful gown I had ever seen. It is a size 0 (and I am a 4) but it looks like it might fit anyway, so I proceed to try it on. While in the dressing room I read that the price tag says it is $300.00 marked down from $4,000.00! Being that I am a bit of a seamstress… I am thinking as I am unzipping this breathtaking piece of clothing, that the material alone is worth way more than $300.00. I step in, pull it up, start zipping and it fits like a glove. SOLD. I start sweating from excitement… and this is the best part. I am NOT engaged and I have no idea what I am going to do with this dress but I want it anyway! I make my way to the register and they ring it up, turns out it was 50% off the last current price! That’s right, it was $150.00 plus tax… I think it came out to about $180.00.”  The deal of a life time. My Wedding Dress

I did decide along with my husband to wear this dress as my wedding dress… that’s right, he saw me in it before we got married… hello, it sat in my closet for almost two years. I absolutely loved it then and I still love it now, sometimes I even put it on for fun! If I could do it all over again, and I was able to choose another gown… I would probably choose one of the ones below. I love ruffles, I adore fitted bodices and full ball gowns. Were you happy with your wedding dress? Are you happy with the dress you have for your wedding soon approaching? Did you know the average bride buys two dresses?? That means I get to buy one more…
