Hi friends! Shea back with something a little different today… my first free printable! I don’t know about you but I didn’t grow up with this tradition of “boo-ing”. It wasn’t until I became I mom that I heard about it. Traditionally, it happens between neighbors, you leave some Halloween goodies on the doorstep of a neighbor and they then do the same until holiday cheer has been spread throughout the neighborhood. There unfortunately aren’t too many kids in my neighborhood so I spent my first year as a mama “booing” the kids of my friends. I had so much fun doing it that this year I actually created pre-made boo baskets and sold them to other local mamas. The printable I created for the kits was too cute that I wanted to share it with our readers incase you wanted to spread some Halloween cheer to someone also!
Supplies:
- Printer
- Matte Photo Paper
- Paper Trimmer or Scissors
- Our FREE file (You can find this at the bottom of this post)
- A basket full of festive goodies!
Print Out Our Free Printable
For the best results, I definitely recommend printing on a high quality matte photo paper (my favorite one is on SUPER sale right now).
Trim Down Printable
Using a paper trimmer or a pair of scissors, trim down the printable to the appropriate sizes. There is one “You’ve Been Booed” flyer, one “We’ve Been Booed” sign for the recipient to hang in their window, and then several small circles that you can add to anything, I used mine on the top of a slime container.
Custom Name Tag
This step is totally optional, but for those of you who have a Cricut, adding a custom little name tag onto the basket is such an extra special little touch. For this basket I used gold glitter iron on and used my EasyPress mini to adhere the name to a wooden tag I got at my local craft store.
Fill With Goodies!
Every basket will likely look a little different depending on the recipient. I found my adorable gold wire basket at the dollar tree if you can believe it! Then I put a piece of tissue paper at the bottom and loaded the basket up! All the goodies I included were things I was able to get in my local Walmart order pickup (would you believe me if I told you I still haven’t been to a grocery store since pre-pandemic, crazy I know).
These baskets are such a great way to spread a little holiday cheer in this crazy and oftentimes heavy time we’re living in right now. I hope you’re able to use the free printable to start a chain reaction of cheer!
