Stunning Styled At-Home Intimate Wedding

“We wanted to create a styled intimate at-home DIY wedding where the bride baked the cake, created the bouquet and set-up the fruit and cheese platter for the sweetheart table with her soon-to-be-husband. She also went to multiple thrift stores to get colorful plates, bowls, candles and the cake-stand to style her table. She is a thrifty bride who wanted a simple, intimate, and budget friendly wedding in her home. I wanted the connection between the couple to be real, so I reached out to a completely in love pair who have been together for more than 5 years.

The timeline was a bit different than most weddings. First, they ate and talked on their sweetheart table, then they had their first dance, after that they did their vows in front of the wooden bench and arch that they have had for as long as they could remember in their backyard. After their vows, we did some more bridal portraits and focused on Karen’s beautiful veil. Then hey danced again in one of their favorite spots in their backyard.

The best advice I can give to a bride that’s planning her wedding is that there is no wrong way to do things. I feel that there are these “unwritten rules” that everyone feels they need to follow, they don’t. If you want to change the timeline from the norm, do it! If you want to do the entire wedding in your home, DO IT! If you love to bake and want to bake your own cake, there are no rules. You can make it look simple and beautiful with a little love. Don’t be afraid! There are no rules!” –Fatima Elreda Photo
