Dreamy Los Tamarindos Destination Wedding

“Perla and Jared’s Cabo farm wedding at Los Tamarindos was an elegant and fun celebration in the midst of the rustic, Los Cabos desert. The romantic gathering was filled with joy and was so much fun to capture. There was so much love in the midst of this Cabo farm location and we really enjoyed recording the intimate event.” –Sara Richardson Photography

What is your favorite wedding day memory?

Marrying my best friend surrounded by our favorite people in the most magical venue.

What did you DIY for your wedding?

We DIY’d lots! Everything from the save the dates, table numbers, guest books, wedding signs, programs, bridesmaid bouquets and boutonnieres! Our reception was held beneath Los Tamarindos’ vine drenched pergola. We opted for bare wood tables and cross back chairs to keep with the rustic feel. The Los Tamarindos team draped our tables with olive branch runners, clay pots and touches of blush flowers, all from the farm.

I purchased over 150 mercury candle votive holders and long stemmed candles from Michael’s at the end of Christmas season, which were placed throughout the reception area. Together with the twinkling string lights under an already beautiful starry night, the setting truly felt magical, warm, and inviting. Even with 125 of our closest friends and family, every moment of the day felt intimate.

The handwritten table numbers and glass signs were all made by me. I purchased frames from Michael’s and HomeGoods and removed backing and artwork from each frame. I downloaded fonts and printed signs tailored to what I wanted, taped them to the back and traced the lettering with acrylic paint pens. Similarly for the ring bearer signs, I purchased plane wood signs at Michael’s. I used carbon paper to trace prints onto the wood and then traced over the letters with white acrylic paint.

Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?

If you are planning a destination wedding, hire a wedding planner. This was probably the best investment we made and in the long run, it saved us money, headaches and stress. Jesse at Cabo Wedding Services, was knowledgeable and incredibly responsive. She knew exactly where and how to get what we needed and on a number of instances, proved to be a great advocate for us, which is exactly what you need when planning from afar. She always made sure we had peace of mind. -Perla, the Bride
