Stunning Spring Engagement Session

“Nestled in the heart of Ontario, Alex and Josh met in truly one of the most whimsical of places, beautiful Muskoka. Working alongside one another at a summer camp was just the beginning to their once upon a time story. As each chapter in their love story continued to write itself, their love continued to blossom for one another. An absolutely stunning apple orchard was the perfect place to celebrate their recent engagement; among the apple blossoms in love’s gentle spring.” –Neverland Photography

How did you find your photographer?

Our photographer is the older sister of a friend of mine. I had seen some of her pictures on social media and then heard she was looking to do an engagement shoot with a newly engaged couple. We JUMPED at the opportunity to get pictures done. Her stuff was beautiful! It was perfect since we hadn’t gotten to far on wedding plans yet.

What are you DIY-ing for your wedding?

We are DIY-ing a lot for our wedding! It has been lots of work so far but we are so excited to have these personal touches. All of our decor has been done ourselves. We have been scouring thrift stores to look for glass jars and candle sticks. I also ordered some flowers in bulk from my florist to make our garlands and centerpieces. We found some huge vintage picture frames that Josh’s mom painted white with chalkboard paint in the middle and I hand wrote all of our signs. Just to name a few! My favorite aspect however was instead of having a traditional cocktail hour we decorated an area of the church with candles and flower walls and then I had all different family members and friends bring their most famous baked good, dessert or snack. Each goodie had a like “made with love by..” sign and was placed out for guests to enjoy after the ceremony. It was a nice way for all our guests to feel like they were gathering in more of a personal family gathering.

Of all your wedding plans, what are you looking forward to the most?

I would say I am looking forward to our entire reception! So many people have been involved in making this day special {my saying is that our wedding has been build on the backs of volunteers} and I can’t wait to have all the people in we love in our lives in one room! I am just excited for the reception to really have Josh and I’s character and to have everybody feel welcome and enjoy themselves. -Alex, the Bride
