Woo who!! You just got engaged! It’s time to make it Instagram official and post that fabulous ring selfie. And we want it to be perfect, just like the stunning diamond on your finger and your handsome new fiancé! We are sharing 10 tips for putting your bling on social media and getting your big announcement just right!
1. GET A KILLER MANICURE
If you think a proposal might be coming, you may want to keep your digits primped. And if he successfully pulled off a surprise, first order of business after popping some champagne is hitting the salon for a fab coat of polish.
2. FIND GOOD LIGHT
Like any good social media post, and photo in general, lighting is key. And bonus if you find an angle where the ring sparkles.
3. SCOPE OUT THE PERFECT BACKGROUND
This is an easy one if you are on vacay. If you’re closer to home, take a drive to the beach, the mountain or a flower field and prop your bling in front of it!
4. GET YOUR FIANCE IN THE MIX
He did good, give him the credit he deserves and get him in the square.
5. TAKE LOTS OF OPTIONS
But only post one. If you just got the ring on your hot little finger, play around, find the perfect angle, but don’t over post.
6. EDIT THOUGHTFULLY
Use an editing app like VSCO or A Color Story to bump up the light, crop it just right and pick the perfect filter.
7. FIND A FLATTERING POSE
Relax your hand, and if you haven’t made it to the salon, follow this Instagrammer’s lead.
8. GRAB A COCKTAIL (OR COFFEE)
We love a good prop, and nothing is better than your favorite beverage for your social feed.
9. BRING IN YOUR FURRY FRIEND
10. GET PLANNING!
Strike a pose as you dive into the planning phase. Show your list, your magazine stack, your Pinterest board or your favorite site, Something Turquoise!
