What is your favorite wedding day memory?

It’s hard not to say the whole thing! But honestly, I think it was the range of people that came for the wedding. Family and friends traveled from all over the United States (some as far as Alaska!), a few even made surprise arrivals! Having people come from literally every corner of the country to meet and celebrate made my heart swell all night.

What did you DIY for your wedding?

Well I suppose almost all of it! From the centerpieces to the glitter dinosaurs… even the lights we strung up that the venue asked us to leave for a while (they eventually purchased similar lights and strung them up!). My husband and I even stayed up until 2am making our wedding cake the night before! It was a complete team effort, however, with some guests I had only just met days before up on ladders stringing up lights. I think that’s part of what made it so fun and special the day of.

Did you have a something old, new borrowed, blue?

I did! However, it only ended up being two items, ha! My mother let me borrow a beautiful hankerchief with blue embroidery and and in my hair I wore a brand new pearl pin.

Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?

Honestly, I think the best advice is to take a step back and relax. The most important thing is that at the end of the day, you’ll be married to the love of your life. The best advice I received for he day of was to take ten minutes with my new husband, find a quiet place, and revel in what just happened. I’m so thankful we did that because hours went by in seconds after that – with the dancing and catching up with family and friends, the night was over in a blur, but I remember taking those ten minutes to celebrate with my husband vividly. -Brianna, the Bride
