Romantic and Moody DIY Stonehouse Villa Wedding

What is your favorite wedding day memory?

Our favorite wedding memory is being overwhelmingly loved by our family and friends during our reception. To sit and stand there in the spotlight and receive the tightest hugs, kisses, well wishes and to hear the memories shared and words of appreciation was the most humbling and genuine experience. They made our day more beautiful.

What did you DIY for your wedding?

Aside from sketching my wedding dress, bridesmaid and flower girls dresses and talking color and vision with my seamstress to get it custom made, just about everything else was DIY’d! From my bouquet, toss bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets as gold metal hoop rings, flower girl’s flower crowns, all of the bouteniers worn by our wedding party, flower girl’s baskets, as well as all of our decor was DIY!

Did you have something old, new borrowed and blue?

I wore an old pair of nude heels as my Something Old, my barrette was my Something New and my Something Borrowed was my Mom’s silhouette slip and I didn’t have anything blue!

Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?

Share your vision, trust those who are sacrificing their time to invest in your big day and run with it! Don’t overthink it. Trust your Mom, she understands you! Focus on preparing yourself for your big day. Everything else is ‘insignificantly’ important. -Divina, the Bride
