What is your favorite wedding day memory?

The one thing I was particular with was the ceremony. I wanted it to be circular with my husband and I in the center. My favorite memory was standing in the center with JB–feeling all the feels–and literally being surrounded by the people we love. Pure magic.

What did you DIY for your wedding?

I went super low key. I had many people tell me that the details are always sweated/stressed over and rarely remembered, so I latched on to that and aimed for as simple as possible! I dried flower and greenery weeks before wedding to use as table decor. Combined this look with borrowed vases + glassware from a friend for an eclectic look with knick knacks and pictures. For the photo booth, I crafted a polaroid frame made out of foam core. We set out Mexican blankets in case people wanted to dine or hang out picnic style. Instead of a guest book we had our guests sign jenga pieces. My bouquet was arranged from Trader Joe’s flowers with a bit of ribbon. Our wedding cake & cake stand were made by a dear friend. I hand lettered the mini chalkboards and letter board drink menu. We borrowed lawn games from friends and family and instead of renting tables and chairs through an event/wedding service {which was outrageously priced and wanted to charge extra to deliver on a Sunday}, I booked tables, chair, and a large speaker with a microphone through a party/inflatable company and saved hundreds of dollars. Lastly, for music I made a large playlist through my amazon prime music account and put it on shuffle.

Did you have something old, new borrowed and blue?

I wore my grandmother’s silver bracelet, my new dress, and actually did not have anything blue. Hopefully no curses fall upon me for breaking tradition!

Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?

Remember it is one day. ONE day out of the rest of your life. Keep that at the forefront of your mind for a constant sense of perspective. It will most likely stress you out, but don’t let it get the best of you. It really should not be a huge stress. Also, I highly recommend postponing your honeymoon! We went on our honeymoon a year after and it was very nice to have a special trip to look forward to. It was very important to me to see and be with the family from out of state so we enjoyed our time with them in the days before the wedding and the days after.
