Geneva Lake Styled Spring Wedding

“For our shoot, it all started with a room. Strange, yes we know. But when the original sanctuary at a local church was brought back to its former glory we saw it as an opportunity for a little creative outlet! The Original Sanctuary for the Community Church of Fontana off the beautiful shore of Geneva Lake, Wisconsin was built in the 1880’s. A new one was built beside the original in the 1930’s. Not much had been done with the original until this past fall when a group of benefactors donated money to have it updated with the goal to host intimate weddings and events in the room. Wanting to keep on a budget, just like actual brides do, we looked into some out of the norm places for our details. This is really well reflected in the Groom’s corduroy jacket was the photographer’s dad’s from the 70’s, we turned to a few second hand stores for some of our tablescape and various details But the show stopper here is our bride’s dress! Which is made by the amazingly talented Kelly with Sew Convenient. Who was given the challenge to make a dress out lace curtains found at a second hand store and store bought jersey fabric! Talk about up-cycling!” –Elyse Bullard Photography
