How did you find your photographer?

Laura {of Walking Eagle Photography} was a reference from our wedding coordinator – the best recommendation yet! Because of my job as a PR professional, I knew photography was going to be one of our wedding priorities. I’ve seen the good, the bad and the ugly — I didn’t want to take any risk with the images from our big day. As soon as I browsed Walking Eagle’s galleries, it was an obvious choice! I love the way their images are full of natural light, movement and airiness. Plus, during our phone interview, Laura really understood that Conor and I are a goofy couple who wanted our wedding to reflect our personalities {and obviously, our favorite foods!}.

What are you DIY-ing for your wedding?

Does the late-night taco station count? :) I’m planning our California wedding from NYC, so unfortunately I haven’t been able to DIY quite as much as I’d like, but I’m finding creative ways to put our own spin on the wedding! I’m focusing on the stuff I know best — the wedding website, stationary and other paper goods. For our invites and save the dates, I’m using templates from sites like Minted.com but customizing them with different fonts and colors. I’m also proud that our wedding website looks and feels like “us.” We’re also infusing as much about our personalities into the wedding as we can. From the hot sauce and toothbrush favors to the flip flops I’ll probably wear all night, our wedding choices are a reflection of Conor and I as individuals, but also as couple.

What are you looking forward to the most?

Would it be too repetitive and predictable to say the late-night taco station?! There’s a special wedding moment I keep playing in my head. I’m picturing Conor and I on the patio late at night. We’re in front of the fireplace, surrounded by the best family and friends in the world, we’re a little drunk and laughing and we’re having tacos with beer.
