Stunning Handmade Wedding at the Historic Smithville Inn

What is your favorite wedding day memory?

Seeing each other for the first time has got to be the best part of the day! Taking pictures throughout the grounds of The Smithville inn was also so much fun.

What did you DIY for your wedding?

I hand made the flower girls baskets and I loved the way they came out! I also collected tons of bottles jars and vases to spray paint gold and pink to use as bud vases on tables. I did a mix and match of centerpieces. In the end, it was an extra special touch, adding a DIY element to the table designs for the tables where our parents were sitting and at our sweetheart table.

What was your something old, new, borrowed and blue?

My something old was my grandmothers bracelet, something new was my dress and veil, something borrowed was a pair of earrings my mother in law let me wear and the bottom of my shoes were a beautiful shade of turquoise blue!

Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?

Appreciate the entire process. When the day comes it goes by quickly. Make sure you relax and live in the moment! Hiring a wedding planner helped with this so much. I Was able to relax and enjoy every moment without worrying about how things were coming together behind the scenes. -Carly, the Bride
