Festive + Handmade New Years Eve Wedding

“This festive New Year’s Eve wedding is full of DIY accents, complete with a confetti drop at midnight! The bride and groom were married in a traditional Catholic ceremony and then partied the night away!” –Jessica Connery Photography

What is your favorite wedding day memory?

The countdown to midnight was my favorite memory from my wedding. Our whole wedding party was gathered on the dance floor counting down to midnight with their DIY bags of confetti. Once the clock stuck midnight, everyone threw their confetti in the air and it was magical.

What did you DIY for your wedding?

I made all the table number signs with each table number being a different New Years resolution quote. I designed our table seating chart in individual picture frames for each guest that fit our photo booth pictures in it. I cut all the New Years eve props and glued the sticks on for our photo booth. I glittered the “Mr. and Mrs.” sign for our head table and the “love” cake topper. I made a DIY confetti bar with 5 different colors of confetti where guests scooped their confetti into bags and made their “midnight mix” to throw in the air at midnight.

Did you have a something old, new borrowed, blue?

My something old was my jewelry which I wore in my best friends wedding. My something borrowed my best friends veil, my dress and shoes were my something new, and my garter belt had a blue gem on it for my something blue.

Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?

I would tell brides to take a step back and enjoy the process. It’s very easy to get caught up in the stress of everything that needs to get done. In the end, all your hard work will come together and end up being the most amazing night of your life. – Kristen, the Bride
