“Sarah and Matt thought through every single detail for their wedding and made it so personal to them. They featured each of their mother’s dresses on mannequins at the entrance of the chapel, Sarah’s father married them and her mother read scripture during the ceremony. Her brother even did the catering!” –Texas Sweet Photography
What is your favorite wedding day memory?
I loved doing a “secret” last dance with my groom at the end of the night. All of the guests went outside to get ready for our big exit and Matt and I danced to “All Of Me” all alone in the barn. It was so fun to talk about the day, talk about our futures and get that private moment together.
What did you DIY for your wedding?
A LOT! My sister-in-law, Molly, handmade all of the photo booth props. I made a lot of the decor including a custom cross stitch of a bride and groom and our wedding date. My mother made all of the flower arrangements for the reception. My dad made a nice wooden arch for us to stand under during the ceremony and he and my bridesmaids made outdoor games for the guests to play. This wedding was definitely a team effort!
Did you have a something old, new borrowed, blue?
My something new was my dress. My something blue was my garter while my something old and borrowed was my in-law’s wedding cake knife and server!
Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?
Delegate early! I didn’t delegate until about a month out and it really lifted a lot of the stress once I did that. I wish I had done it earlier! Your wedding party, immediate family, cousins, aunts and friend ask them for help! Who can say no to a bride in need? -Sarah, the Bride
