“One of the perks of having our permit to shoot in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is meeting people from all over the country who travel to Gatlinburg for vacation and ask us to capture some memories with them. Stephanie and Addison made the journey with their pup all the way from Dallas, and since this is still one of our favorite sessions in the Smokies, we wanted to highlight their beautiful engagement today. This couple perfectly planned their wardrobe and fully embraced one of our tips for our sessions. We always suggest that couples bring two different looks, one that is dressy and another that is more casual. As we’ve posted photos of these two, everyone has raved over Stephanie’s gold Badgley Mischka dress from Rent the Runway. We loved this sparkly floor length gown against the wooded backdrop of Elkmont. As we embrace today, join us in the mountains with Stephanie and Addison who will be married soon in Texas. We wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!” –Juicebeats Photography
How did you find your photographer?
We found our photographer by researching on the Knot. We were vacationing for Thanksgiving in Gatlinburg and being from Dallas we knew we wanted something different, something where fall is the key theme. When we started looking we just loved Jason’s style and he had such great accolades we knew we needed him to take our engagement pictures. The area where Jason shot us was perfect and a great getaway from our busy city life.
What are you DIY-ing for your wedding?
We DIY-ed our large outdoor items. Instead of renting, we decided to build benches and light poles. The farmhouse-style benches are cedar and we made them very durable and heavy with a clear poly coat to allow them to withstand the elements. The light poles are true to the Texas Hill County, we thought it would be only appropriated to base the poles and bistro lights on wine barrels. After sealing them with a dark stain we also coated them with polyurethane. The last item we DIY-ed was our ceremony ring. A 12 ft diameter ring welded to have flowers all around and be the perfect backdrop for the ceremony along the Perdenales river.
What are you looking forward to the most?
Marrying my best friend of course! But also all the hidden surprises we have for our guests during the event. -Stephanie, the Bride
