“Brittany always imagined getting married in a historic church with stained glass windows. So when she + David walked into The First Presbyterian Church of Ocala with it’s architecture dating back from the early 1900s, they knew it was the perfect place to exchange their vows. And all the same goes for why they intentionally chose The Ocala Ballroom for their reception. It’s vintage aesthetics won their heart and their wedding day was just as charming as they are.” –Elaine K. Garland Photography

What is your favorite wedding day memory?
It is hard to pick a favorite memory in a day full of perfection. One memory that sticks out is when David and I we’re first announced as husband and wife. It was such a special moment to turn around and see all the family and friends that came to support us {because let’s be honest, I wasn’t looking at them when I was walking down the aisle, towards my future hubby!} We proceeded down the aisle to the Star Wars Thrown Room song which was the perfect touch for how much my husband loves Star Wars. It was such a fun moment and made my heart overflow!
What did you DIY for your wedding?
Wow! Where to start? We bought the flowers from Hobby Lobby and Michaels and crafted our bouquets, boutonnieres and pins for the Mom’s and Grandmother’s. We designed the invitations and programs and printed them ourselves. We also put together all the centerpieces and flower candy favors made from streamers. We made the photo booth backdrop and props, as well as the backdrop that was behind us during our reception. The burlap bows placed on the pews at the ceremony in the church were handmade. The paper flowers and backdrop of the gift table were handmade, as well. Lastly, I also handmade tissue gift favors that were given at our ceremony “for happy tears”.
Did you have a something old, new, borrowed and blue?
My Something old was my Grandmother’s ring, that my Mom now wears. My something new was my wedding dress. Lastly, my something blue we’re the flowers in my bouquet!
