Charles & Colvard Tour + Moissanite Earrings Giveaway!

You might have seen via social media that I took a trip to beautiful North Carolina to tour the headquarters of Charles & Colvard a few weeks ago, and today I’m thrilled to be sharing my experience with you! Charles & Colvard is the leading (and only) manufacturer of Moissanite in the United States and if you haven’t heard of Moissanite – I’m super excited to have the honor of introducing you to it.

In simple terms, Moissanite is a manufactured gemstone that looks, feels and lasts just like a diamond – however they are about half the price and are 100% free of conflict. Personally I have always been a fan of non-traditional wedding rings and so when given the opportunity to learn about these stunning gems, I jumped on it!

Charles & Colvard created Moissanite

Let me start by saying the Charles & Colvard team treated us like royalty and welcomed us with open arms! There was an esteemed group of bloggers and jewelry designers that made the trip and it was such a wonderful experience. We ate amazing food, stayed in a beautiful hotel, toured their giant headquarters, had a round-table discussion with the big-wigs and got to play with SO many breathtaking gemstones it was unreal, we even got to go in their vault! They called our trip the Moissy Mavens Event. To see more first hand pictures like the ones I’m sharing here, search #MoissyMavens on Instagram.

I’m a very visual learner so my favorite part of the trip was being able to see and truly understand the extensive process that it takes to create an individual Moissanite gemstone. The image you see here is the perfect example of the exquisite dedication Charles & Colvard puts into each stone, it actually takes 9+ steps that are all performed by hand by industry leading gemologists to create each gem. So don’t think of them as being mass produced in some giant machine, it’s actually quite the opposite – each step has it’s very own team of experts that carries out it’s production and perfection.

Each stone is inspected and graded just like any other gemstone, and the ones that meet the highest quality standard are called Forever BrilliantĀ® and it’s these that resemble a diamond so significantly that to the naked eye, you couldn’t tell the difference.

9 Steps to Creating Moissanite

There are many different reasons why one might choose Moissanite over a diamond:

  • Moissanite isn’t a diamond
  • Moissanite is ethically sourced and conflict free
  • Moissanite is more affordable than a diamond
  • Moissanite comes in many gorgeous, vibrant colors
  • Moissanite has more fire, brilliance, and luster than a diamond and it will never dull

What is the reason that you might be interested in rocking a Moissanite?
