Steal This Style | vibrant mid century table top

It’s #WeddingWednesday… and usually I am sharing a lovely DIY wedding – but today I’m sharing something better!!! I’m super excited to announce that we have a brand new contributor to Something Turquoise! Her name is Lauren Koster and she writes a lovely blog called Undeclared Panache… you might remember her from her drop-dead gorgeous DIY wedding that we featured last year. She’s a talented handbag designer by day, a budding wedding planner by night and a DIY maven everywhere in between. She will be regularly sharing her awesome ideas and aesthetic with us… which I know you will enjoy!

Hi Something Turquoise readers! It’s Lauren from Undeclared Panache, I am so happy to be here talking to you about some of the topics I’m passionate about, weddings, beautiful styling, and pretty things…

Vintage glassware, mid century modern and vibrant colors, are among my very favorite things on the planet – so it’s only fitting that my first “steal this style” post has all of three elements. This beautifully curated table was part of Mid Century Desert Inspiration styled shoot, and in my mind is perfection. The look is collected, yet edited, modern, yet vintage, completely unique and oozing with colorful charm. Lucky for us, I have tracked down similar elements, and given a few DIY tips, to achieve this look at your wedding, special event or even in your home.

/////  DIY Tied Fabric Table Runner  /////

Tie strips of fabric and trim to a piece of twine that runs the length of your table – for a quick, relaxed and unique table runner. Tip: use at least 7 different fabrics/trims to create a multitude of texture and dimension.

/////  DIY Mini Animal Favors  /////

Inspired by these Etsy listings, paint your mini animals like these with at least one coat of spray paint in your choice of color, then tape off everything but the legs and paint again with metallic gold spray paint. These whimsical creatures will add unique charm to your table top.
