“Our wedding is in Massachusetts, but my fiance and I now live in Michigan, so needless to say choosing the right vendors has been a difficult process since we aren’t physically in Massachusetts to meet with them. Choosing our Photographer however was an easy selection. I must have looked at 30 or so photographers in the Massachusetts area, and there was only one I liked. They had this vintage, soft lighting, rustic chic element to their work I was looking for, I contacted them and of course they were already booked 2 years in advance. I was starting to think I would have to settle for another photographer when the previous photographer that was booked called me to say they knew someone out of state that had a very similar photography style, and would be great to work with. That’s how I found Catherine Rhodes Photography all the way from Missouri!

We are DIY-ing a couple of things for our wedding. The Save the Dates, the invitations, and all the other paper goods – My fiance and I both have artistic backgrounds, so this is something we wanted to do together. Jon is very good with computer illustration, so that helps! For our guest book I actually made a guest “quilt” instead for people to sign so it would be something we could hold onto forever and have displayed. We are also making a few decorations one being an old window pane with pictures of previous family members wedding day. We are also making our favors which are little paper boxes that will hold succulents…

Well I’d have to say I can’t wait for the actual wedding day to come so we can see all the hard work and planning that went into it!
