“Alicia and Zack we’re wed at Saints James & Patrick Parish, a beautiful church filled with detail and architecture and partied the night away with their large bridal party, friends and family! Not only is it evident that they are perfect for one another by watching their chemistry, but it was just so amazing to see the bond they shared with their son, Easton. To see Zack holding their son as Alicia walked down the aisle toward them took my breath away. It was just as special as when Alicia and Zack privately (and without seeing one another!) exchanged letters before their ceremony.” –Jacoby Photo and Design

What is your favorite wedding day memory?

My favorite memory was exchanging letters with our backs to each other right before the ceremony. Another touching moment was when my husband held our son {6 months} at the alter while I walked down the isle and then gave him to my dad when he gave me away.

What did you DIY for your wedding?

I create signs on the side, so I had lots of signs that I made. We DIY’d all of the table centerpieces with different vases on each table with baby’s breath + hydrangeas with candles everywhere! Our guest book were large letters from Hobby Lobby spelling out our last name that everyone signed. I rented a vintage dresser and made that our memory table with pictures of loved ones who had passed and an old window that said “We know you’d be here today if heaven wasn’t so far away”. We rented a vintage popcorn cart and made a “take home popcorn bar”.

Something old, new, borrowed and blue?

My something old was one of my Great Grandmothers vintage bracelets, something new was my dress, something blue {actually mint} was my shoes and my something borrowed was my lipstick!

Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?

My advice would be that no one cares. As awful as that sounds, nobody cares about the countless hours you put in to choosing the perfect floral arrangement for your bouquet or that your centerpieces didn’t turn out exactly how you envisioned them. They don’t even care that your dress doesn’t fit just right because they’re not there for all of that, they’re there to witness the love between you and your husband, enjoy a good party and eat some cake! So as much as it might be easier said than done, don’t sweat the small stuff! Enjoy every single moment of that day spent with your new husband. After all it is all about you guys. -Alicia, the bride
