DIY wedding | Kyle + Audra

“I am completely smitten by these two! Audra & Kyle had such a wonderful energy about them that radiated onto their guests & you could feel their love for each other in every detail of the day. They were such a great couple to work with and the photographs we made together are just beautiful slices of such a magical day! Audra made her own beautiful headpiece, Kyle had arranged the flowers & made the centerpieces, the wedding cakes were also handmade. Their guest book was a notebook they bought together while backpacking in Nepal and to make the evening even more romantic the band playing was a favorite of Kyle & Audra’s to go watch on date nights!” – Kendra Elise Photography

“I would have to say that my favorite memory was seeing Kyle and his reaction to seeing me for the first time. We went back and forth about doing ‘first look’ pictures for a while before deciding to do them and I am so happy we did. The weeks leading up to our wedding were a little hectic, finishing up final details, visiting with out of town guests, etc.  Having that moment of just the two of us was really special and emotional. It also produced some of our favorite pictures!

..I feel like I should say what didn’t we DIY!?! Kyle and I made almost everything for the wedding, table numbers, chalkboard signs, photo booth props, menus, custom painted corn hole boards in our wedding colors.. I also handmade my headpiece and my parents did all the flowers. It was a lot of work and definitely stressful at times but I love how everything turned out. I feel it gave our wedding a unique touch which worked with our personality as a couple that we couldn’t have achieved otherwise. I also don’t think I could have accomplished everything without all the help I got, I am truly lucky to have a husband that was willing to spend his weekends hunting for supplies and crafting with me!

..My something old was a pair of antique cameo earrings that were a gift from my step father. My something borrowed and blue was a beautiful aquamarine and diamond ring from my mother. My something new was the easiest, my wedding dress…

ST_advice_for_current_brides

..Enjoy the whole process as much as possible and do what makes you happy! My fiancee and I choose what to include in our wedding, and didn’t pay attention to the things that “we should do”. Also consider taking pictures before the ceremony it worked out perfectly for us. Doing so gave us the opportunity to enjoy cocktail hour with our friends and family, celebrating with everyone one you love is one of the best feelings out there!” -Audra, the bride
