Gorgeous Spring Engagement at Bear Creek Herbary

“Anytime there is an engagement session to be done that involves a greenhouse or animals of any sort – count me in. It just so happens that this particular engagement session has a ridiculously adorable couple, some baby goats, a perfect bouquet and a gorgeous greenhouse – so really I can die happy now. It helps that Kristen is co-owner of the awesome Revolution Bridal {look them up for hair and make-up} so her hair and make-up were perfect. Kristen is basically my photography match made in heaven, so I knew that we had to go all out for her session. I enlisted the help of Narcissus Florist to ensure that we got a stunning bouquet to accentuate all the beauty in the greenhouse and provide a pop of color. They did not disappoint. It was such a stunner and the baby goats loved it, too.

In case you haven’t yet visited Bear Creek Herbary, it was the perfect spot for these portraits. They have extensive grounds, a super cute cafe, an amish barn filled with goodies straight out of Martha Stewart and a greenhouse loaded with succulents. The icing on the cake was that they also have two white baby goats named Coconut and Caramel. I had no idea about the goats when we were planning the session, so they were basically the best surprise ever {and BOY were they little hams, totally stealing the show}. The owners of Bear Creek were incredibly accommodating and really let us take advantage of their gorgeous property which I so appreciated! I can’t wait to go back in the warmer months when everything outdoors will be blooming.” –Kelly Sea Images

How did you find your photographer?

I met Kelly while doing the hair and makeup for one of my brides. She was so kind and stuck to their timeline perfectly. Once the pictures came in and she shared them with us, I was floored with her gallery. Her style is soft, whimsical and romantic – everything I was looking for in a photographer. So of course when it finally came down to choosing a photographer for our wedding, there were no other options, just Kelly! I know I can put our pictures up in our house and everything will flow with our decor. Light, bright and airy!

What are you DIY-ing for your wedding?

So I invested in the Cricut machine this year and said “I’m going to make all my invitations”…now thinking about it, definitely not!! So I will most likely just be crafting signs for the cocktail hour and reception detailing our signature drinks, hashtags, favor tags, seating arrangements and our programs. I have not gotten into much detail on all of my DIY yet, but what I can make, I will!

Of all your wedding plans, what are you looking forward to the most?

We are so excited for everything that day! We will be getting married in December at St. Lucy’s Church, The National Shrine of St. Gerard, in Newark, New Jersey. It is and old Italian church, built in 1925, with beautiful domed and painted ceilings, marble and terrazzo floors. Our reception will then be held at the Venetian in Garfield, New Jersey. We are most excited for their incredible food and our DJ, SCE Event Group and last but not least, of course our gorgeous photography done by the wonderful Kelly Sea Images, because all you have left at the end of the day is pictures and memories! -Kristen, the Bride
