This month I’ve been sharing lots of “gifts for giving” since it’s the holidays and after all DIY gifts are just the best. So here’s another inexpensive and darling idea – spice dip favor vials! The perfect size for gift giving, these adorable little glass jars pack a tasty punch and at about $2.00 each they’re bound to make your wallet do a happy dance. I live for simple, unique, and useful favors like these that can be assembled in just one evening. Make sure to throw these vials in the dishwasher before you use them and try to create them within 1 month of gifting so that your spices will stay ultra-fresh! Happy Crafting!

We will start by punching holes in the darling little wooden spoons. The Crop-a-dile makes this super easy; it will almost cut through anything. Now you can tie the spoons onto the vials!

1 Vial = 2 TBLS mix

Each of these 1.25 ounce glass vials holds 2 heaping tablespoons of spice or dip mix – which is the PERFECT serving size. I love when things just work out.

You can make your own dip mix or buy pre-made mixes like I did, up to you.

We are using the “large” bottles of spice mix from Spice Done Right in delicious Zesty Garlic Dip and yummy Tuscan Spice Mix. I was able to get 15 vials from each of these large bottles.

FYI: they are happy to customize large bags of spice mixes for you in bulk to save money, you just have to ask!

You’ll need about 12″ of twine for each jar.

Make Your Own Tags

So I’m totally crushing on my Cricut Explore and used it to make these darling little tags. I used the writing feature with tag number #M37134. Make sure to include your dip/spice instructions on your tag.

Add your mini-spoon and tags, then tie a bow.

Here I used two tags; one with the spice name and one with the instructions. All the info couldn’t fit on one tiny tag so I used two, but you could also easily write the instructions on the backside.

Zesty Garlic Dip!

This mix is sooo… yummy! 2 tablespoons = the amount in each vial – is the exact serving to mix in a small 8 ounce container of sour cream!

Seriously obsessing over that little spoon!

Tuscan Infusion Spice Mix

Amazing! This spice mix can be used to season anything from spaghetti sauce to chicken and vegetables, but my favorite use is to sprinkle it in olive oil for dipping bread!

How to choose a spice or dip?

There are many different things that could help you pick the perfect spice for your wedding favor! Something that fits you as a couple or means something to your relationship or something that fits your:

  • Wedding theme; a rustic barn theme would work great with a bbq rub
  • Wedding cuisine; serve a spice that matches what you are serving for dinner
  • Wedding location; destination wedding in mexico means a quacamole dip would be perfect
  • Your heritage; lets say you are Italian, the Tuscan spice would be a great choice
  • The season you’re getting married in; spring or summer would be great for the zesty garlic dip – it’s delicious with fresh veggies
