“A picnic basket, giant balloons, and cute cheese platters! I knew as soon as I met Kym and Rey that their engagement and wedding was going to be special. Their DIY style was the perfect mix of vintage meets elegant. We hiked through a West Coast rainforest and finished off with a sunset picnic complete with champagne overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It was such a privilege to be a part of their story and to create friendships with such amazing people.” – Whitney Lane Photography

“We were so lucky to have found Whitney and Kel from Whitney Lane Photography while browsing the internet for Vancouver wedding photographers. I was initially drawn to the pictures I came across of their travels throughout Europe and then I saw their wedding photography and was even more blown away! When we met Whitney and Kel for the first time, we felt like we had known them forever. They made us feel comfortable right from the start and I knew immediately that they was the ones for us. :) We could not have made a better choice for such an important decision…

..Planning our wedding definitely brought out a lot of creativity in me that I never new I had! Most of the décor elements in our wedding were DIY projects made by yours truly! One of my favorite DIY projects was made from an old set of drawers that I found at a thrift store which I cleaned, painted and used as cookie and drink trays. Welcome bags were made for each of our guests containing a jar of our favorite peach jam along with a map to the local wineries and other survival goodies for the weekend. I also made several chalkboards out of vintage frames that we used for our menu and various other signage. An old window served as our seating chart and local peaches were placed on each dinner plate with the guest name attached.

..Rey and I were married in Naramata, BC which is a very special place for us. Of all the wedding plans, what we looked forward to the most was having our closest family and friends tall together in such a special place for such an amazing weekend. Friends and family flew from all over the world to be with us on our wedding weekend. The weekend was filled with wine tours, bike rides, swimming and of course one extremely eventful and fun wedding! It was truly amazing to see so many people we love so much be all together to witness our first day as husband and wife.

Looking forward or looking back, our hearts are completely FULL of gratitude. We are so thankful for all the special people in our lives which now include our photographers Whitney and Kel :)” – Kim, the bride

“This gorgeous fall engagement session of Meg and Eric was shot at the Cox Arboretum in Dayton, Ohio. The sun and colors were just perfect for shooting that day. How I got to know both Meg and Eric is a super fun story. Meg (like myself) is a Miami University grad! Although, I may have a graduated a few years earlier then Meg – the exact number is not important. We met in Chicago several years ago at a Miami alumni event and started discussing photography, which she has a great interest in. Fast forward to 2013 and I’m completely flattered when I hear from Meg who is now engaged, and would like me to shoot her wedding! Come to find out she is engaged to Eric, whose family used to attend the same church as my family in little Springboro, Ohio. Needless to say, I’m looking very forward to their fall 2014 wedding in Chicago!” – Ben Elsass Photography

“I met our photographer Ben at a Miami of Ohio Networking event. Ironically, he grew up in the same hometown  as my fiance Eric, and their families know each other from church! Talk about a small world! I love photography and have followed Ben’s work for several years (and LOVE it!), so it was a no-brainer when we got engaged to choose Ben as our wedding photographer!

..Eric and I are getting married at Kenilworth Union Church and having our reception at the Kenilworth Club down the street. We definitely plan on having some DIY projects integrated into our wedding. My mom and I are both crafty and are eager to put together some unique table decor. One of the ideas I’m excited about is having old wedding photos of our parents and grandparents displayed at the entrance of our reception. My sister/Maid of Honor is also a talented artist and I think it would be super unique if she sketched one of the engagement pictures Ben took. (We’re still working on her for this!) We’d have that at the front of the reception as well :)

..Of all of our wedding plans, certainly the most exciting element is becoming Mrs. Eric Dunigan. I couldn’t be happier to marry my best friend. The best part of our wedding though will be bringing all of our favorite people together in one room. We’re so blessed to have such incredible families and friends and it will be amazing celebrating with all of them!” – Meg, the bride-to-be

“From their personalities to their sweet charm, this couple stole my heart away! Jess & Mike are such a down to earth and fun couple to be around. Their New Jersey wedding next fall is going to be full of rustic detail, a little bit of country and diy projects. When it came time to finding the location for their session, Jess knew exactly what she wanted, we both agreed that Bayonet Farms in Holmdel, NJ would be a perfect place to tie in her rustic wedding theme. The property was filled with barns, old houses with porches and lots of open fields to explore. This location couldn’t have been anymore perfect. I was so glad that I really got to know both of them during their session. The passion that these two have for each other was beyond evident as you can tell.” – Christy Nicole Photography

“We met our photographer Christy through my future sister in-law Kara. She is best friends with Christy’s younger sister. She mentioned that Christy was a photographer and gave me her website. Once I checked it out, I absolutely loved her work. The weird thing is that she and my fiance actually went to the same high school and have a few of the same friends but never really knew each other, they just knew each others names…

..We will be DIY-ing basically all of the decor for our wedding from all the center pieces, benches for our ceremony, an entrance way for our outdoor wedding, place cards, and our favors. Also, our family and friends will be helping with all of our dessert items for our dessert buffet!

..Out of all our wedding plans we are looking forward to our day finally being here. Dancing our butts off to our live band, celebrating with our family and friends… and finally being able to call each other husband and wife!” – Jessica, the bride-to-be

“We met with Corey and Brittany this fall with a vision to capture their love in the landscape of the Natural State (Arkansas). We set off on rugged, dirt roads to recreate the moment when Corey asked Brittany to be his “girl”. Traveling to the original location of their love’s beginning caused the couple to remember the sweet affection that marked their early days together. We are delighted to share with you a collection of images narrating that beautiful autumn evening.” -Henry Trejo Organic Photography

Henry Trejo was our photographer and before our shoot, I had known him as just an acquaintance really, he had played in the worship band at our church with my fiancé, Corey. He actually came up to Corey and I at our engagement, letting us know that he would cut us a deal since we knew him (and we were college students, and you know how that goes). Shortly after, we were looking at his blog and decided to set a date. Clearly, we did not regret it!

..Honestly right now, I do not have all of my wedding details figured out. I am working full-time and going to school full-time, but I am planning on some much needed time to get all that stuff taken care of during Christmas break. So far, I was finding some really neat homemade guestbook ideas that I was wanting to ask my sister-in-law to make. And then, for flowers I asked my future mother-in-law if she would want to grow some of them. Our wedding is in May, so I keep telling myself I have time…

..Thinking about this, I really want to say the music is what I am most excited to plan. Let’s be real, guys I could care less about the amount of candles on each table, or where the hydrangeas and baby’s breath are going to be placed. What I know, is that music is one of the things Corey is most passionate about and I feel like it’s something he can really enjoy planning with me.” -Brittany, the bride-to-be

Check out this cute and quirky engagement session of Alex + Mindy, shot at the Scottsdale, AZ Arabian Library by Rachel Solomon Photography. Aren’t these two just darling!

“We were glad to have found Rachel through a friend of ours…

..We are doing most things for our wedding ourselves actually! From the decorations (center-pieces, hanging pom-poms, signs, burlap utensil holders, flowers, etc.), food, boutonnieres, dance play list, etc. We basically tried to save money in every way that we could!

..We are most excited to simply get married and to have our family and friends there to celebrate with us!” – Mindy, the bride-to-be
