DIY Wedding | Johnny + Chelsi

“Chelsi and Johnny chose the Great Hall in Sunriver, Oregon for the romantic cabin feel with 200 of their closet friends and family. They lined the aisle and fireplace with candles and flowers. Lights sparkled all around them as they said their vows in front of the grand fireplace. They had one of their Groomsmen perform the ceremony to keep the wedding vibe intimate. Their wedding was simple, elegant and filled with rustic charm and sparkles. The invitations had a navy blue base with twinkling lights, matching the bridesmaids dresses perfectly. Chelsi wore a trumpet dress and her bouquet held a heart charm with a photo of her late mother in them so she would be with Chelsi throughout the day. Chelsi requested a first look not just with her fiance, but also with her dad. Chelsi and Johnny had a blast celebrating with their friends and family and dancing through the night.” –Kellianne Jordan Photography

What is your favorite wedding day memory?

It’s hard to choose just one memory! We had so much fun with our friends and family the entire night. Johnny and I literally didn’t leave the dance floor. We had the best DJ and danced all night long.

What did you DIY for your wedding?

I spent a lot of time searching at Goodwill for little decorations for the wedding. I found an old gold frame to use for the seating chart. I did all of the chalkboards myself. Pinterest had some great ideas I was able to DIY. My bridesmaids and I put together the flowers for the centerpieces the day before the wedding. I also DIY’d mason jars with burlap decoration for the aisle and some of the centerpieces.

Did you have a something old, new, borrowed and blue?

Actually, I didn’t do anything with this tradition.

Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?

Take a second during the planning process and remember WHY you said yes to getting married in the first place. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the little details, but it all comes together in the end. Enjoy this exciting time before the big day. It all goes by so fast! – Chelsi, the Bride
