DIY Wedding | Aaron + Hannah

“Hannah & Aaron met when they were just thirteen. As they grew up together, Aaron began to realize that Hannah was the girl for him. He asked her for a date, and she declined! He asked her again… same answer. He decided to give it one more go, and the third time really was the charm. They began dating, and became best friends. Five years later, they were married on Aaron’s family property. Their easy going and comfortable relationship came through in their pictures; they are a beautiful couple, and were a privilege to photograph.” – Ivy Lee Photography

What is your favorite wedding day memory?

My favorite wedding day memory was when my groom and I did our “first look” just before the wedding ceremony took place. We had both been so busy up until that point, that when we finally got to see one another we felt like time had stopped, and that we could relax and enjoy the day.

What did you DIY for your wedding?

We DIY-ed everything! Food for the guests, as well as the music for everything. Also all the decor and wedding stationary. The Groom and Groomsmen wedding attire. All the flowers. And my hair and makeup.

Something old, new, borrowed and blue?

I had my Sister’s old wedding bouquet; my wedding dress and shoes were new; I borrowed my cousins veil; and I had something blue just not where anyone could see it :)

Any advice for brides currently in the planning process?

My advice would be, to just relax and enjoy it while it lasts. Though it might be stressful at times, it’s well worth it. And you will be able to look back and enjoy all those fun memories that you had planning it all with those crazy fun bridesmaids and friends.
