SUPPLIES:

  • unfinished wooden serving tray (ours is from Michaels)

Start by glittering the inner sides of your wooden tray, one side at a time. Liberally apply the Martha Stewart Crafts decoupage glue…

..then immediately shake on the glitter in excess.

On a wax papered surface, tap the tray onto the surface to release any loose glitter.
Make sure to save the excess glitter!

Repeat those steps on each side.

Before the glue dries, wipe away any messy glue and glitter. *CRAFTERS TIP: if there are spots left with no glitter, wait until the coat of glue dries before you go back and add more – otherwise you will end up wiping off more glitter.

Place a sign in a cute frame (ours is 5 x 7), asking your guests to sign your ‘guest book serving tray’! Download ours below or create your own; simply click on the link to download/print. *SHARPIE TIP: Sharpies do bleed on wood a little. The bleed didn’t bother us – so we didn’t seal the wood before hand. If it will bother you, simply paint a coat of the MSC decoupage glue onto the board and let it dry completely before your guests sign it.
Use any size and color Sharpies you would like.

Ok… so once you are back home from your honeymoon and you have some time – you need to seal your tray! This will ensure that through much serving tray use, your glitter and signatures will stay perfectly intact. PS: if there are any strange spaces or gaps in the signatures – fill them in with hearts, dots, drawings or etc…

Two coats of Martha Stewart Crafts Decoupage glue, with at least an hour of dry time in between each coat, is all you will need to never loose a sparkle or a signature!

Isn’t it just adorable!?! And so functional – I can see many a newlywed snack + drink being served on this special tray that is so full of love…
