I love this idea of the handmade shoe bag favors! The bride’s mother sewed all these special bags for their guests to put their shoes in because they asked them to “leave their shoes behind and dig their toes in the sand”! What a sweet idea!

“There are so many! If I had to pick one it would have to be when Steve, my husband, said “I do” a little too early during our ceremony. He caught everyone off guard and gave us all a good laugh. Our photographer caught that moment and I will remember it forever. Of course, it was wonderful to have all of our family and friends with us and we will cherish the many beautiful memories we all made together!

..There were quite a few things DIY at our wedding to add that personal touch. Our escort cards, Mr. & Mrs. sign, 5 things you don’t know about him/her, all signs, and best of all our favors. My mother made shoe bags for our guests as favors because we asked our guests to “leave your shoes behind and bury your toes in the sand” during our ceremony!

..Of course! Something old: I wore my TriDelta sorority pin inside my dress. Something new: I wore three different pairs of shoes throughout the day that I called my “something new”. Something borrowed: A good friend that was unable to attend our wedding let me borrow her grandmother’s vintage clutch. Something blue: My garters had blue organza flowers on them.

..Stay calm! Don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to do everything at once. Use a calendar to set a timeline and goal dates for finalizing the big details (photographer, DJ/band, makeup/hair, etc.). And remember, every love story is beautiful… even if a little something goes wrong!” – Laura, the bride
