proposal | Michael + Francesca

“Michael had a plan for the perfect proposal. It was Christmas Eve and his work was having a holiday party at Belvedere Castle in Central Park. As he and Fran approached the castle, a caricaturist approached them and asked if they wanted a sketch done of the two of them. Little did Fran know, there was no holiday party and on the (pre-made) sketch, the words “Will You Marry Me?” were written at the top! She also had no idea that Michael had hired a photographer to capture the proposal and then whisk them away to an engagement shoot!” – Pennace Photography

“The proposal was perfect in every way and that is thanks to my fiancé who truly went above and beyond in planning every detail! I was told we were going to a company holiday party in the Belvedere Castle in Central Park. I was a little suspicious but Mike was so calm about it and had invitations and wrist bands made up for the event to throw me off. When we arrived at the castle an artist, Joe Vissichelli, approached us and asked us if he could draw our picture. I found this a little suspicious but was quickly distracted when the artist began making small talk and asking us questions. When the artist turned the drawing around to show it to us, the drawing read “Will you marry me?” and Mike was down on one knee. I immediatly said YES! At the time I still had no idea that Laura was photographing us the whole time. She even got some great shots of the people in the park wishing us congratulations. We then strolled through the park for an hour and took some pictures with some of the beautiful landmarks the park is known for including the boat house and the beautiful brick underpasses. It was so cold but we were too happy to care!

My fiance found Joe Vissichelli, the caricaturist, on Google and Joe reccomended hiring Laura from Pennace Photography to capture the whole thing on camera. They have worked together on surpise engagements in the past…
